Current wheel and tire combo
Goodyear MT/R 37" x 12/5" x 17" American Expedition Vehicles Pintler beadlock 17" x 8.5" x 5.3" rims TeraFlex 1.25" wheel spacers
Originally I installed the MT/Rs that I had on the H2 which were a great tire. When that set wore out I installed a set of the new MT/Rs with Kevlar and so far these tires seem a lot better than the old MT/Rs. When I wrote this update, I’d run server trails in Moab and Colorado and these things stick like glue to all types of terrain.
When I installed the new tires I rattle caned the wheels black and installed new rings. Also I set the TPMS threshold to zero using my AEV Procal and ditched the sensors.

Before I installed the tires I put a TPMS sensor in each rim. I’ve yet to get the Jeep to recognize the sensors and the TPMS warning light has been on ever since I put the wheels on the Jeep.
Update 3/10/08: Putting 36 PSI in the tires solved the problem and the TPMS warning light is gone.
Update 7/24/09: When I installed a new set of tires I ditched the sensors and set the TPMS threshold to zero with my AEV Procal

Mounting the tires was surprisingly easy. I brushed a soapy water mix around the beads and knelt on the tires to get the back side over the rim. A rubber mallet is all you need to get the outside bead to sit in the beadlock channel.

After putting thread lock on all the bolts and hand tightening them I used a hand ratchet to tighten all the bolts. Finally using a toque wrench and setting them to 15 lbs. It takes forever by hand so I used an air ratchet for the other 4 wheels.

I was going to spend time writing a rant about AEV but decided to keep it short and sweet. The AEV Pintler are advertized as having an approximate backspace of 4.7 inches. In reality the backspace measures 5.3 inches and when mounted on my Jeep they were too close to the frame. I had to purchase some TeraFlex 1 ¼ inch spacers to get them to fit properly.
Needless to say I was/am not happy about this and do not recommend this company. Eventually I will get rid of these wheels when I have the money.

First remove the vale core. This is very important for obvious reasons.

Remove the 25 beadlock ring bolts. Discard the bolts and use new ones when re-installing.

Remove the ring, inspect for any serious damage and replace if necessary.

Break the inner bead. I used a hi-lift jack to force the bead off the rim however a tire shop will do it for about $5 per wheel.

Remove tire by putting the wheel on a 5 gallon bucket and easing the tire off the outer rim.

A couple of the wheels had a little rock rash.
