Magnaflow Open Wide Muffler
This modification wasn’t done strictly for performance and I’m not convinced the muffler does anything other than sound better than the stock muffler. Getting rid of the stock muffler and a better sound were the primary reason to this modification.

The installation was and took me about 45 minutes:
- Remove the stock muffler. I used a 3” crowbar to get it off the rubber mounts and some WD-40 to help slid it off the pipe.
- Cut 16” of the stock pipe under the Jeep between the frame rails. I used a 4 ½” grinder with a cut off wheel and cut it in place.
- Clamp the new muffler into the 16” gap.
- Put the tip on the back where the stock muffler used to attach. I had to turn it slightly to clear my bumper and may trim up the tip so it’s flush.

Muffler (I’ve since turned the clamps the other way round).

Updated 6/1/08:
The tailpipe was not secure enough and would shake failrly badly on the trail so I used the mounting pin from the old muffler and welded it on the tip for some added support. I used the stock mounting support on the frame and a left ove rubber exhaust grommet. I also cut the end of the tip flush with the bottom on the bumper.

AFE Stage II Air Filtration System
I installed an AFE stage II air filtration system. I’m not convinced this modification does much for performance although it does seem a little livelier driving around town and I like the slight whistling sound it makes.

AEV Procal Module
I purchased an AEV Procal module so I could finally set the computer up for the proper sized tires etc. What a great little device for the money. I used it to: Set my tires size (now the odometer is 100% accurate) Setup the shift points for my 5.13 gears (huge difference) Set the TMPS to 25 PSI so I could lower my pressure to something less bone shaking Turn off the one touch signal feature
